Dale Gnidovec – Curator, Orton Geological Museum, The Ohio State University – “Teeth, Jaws and Claws”

September 14, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

For the past 29 years, Dale Gnidovec has been at Ohio State University’s Orton Geological Museum, first as Collections Manager and now as Curator, a position that has him caring for over 50,000 rocks, minerals, and fossils. Another aspect of his work is reaching out and educating the public about geology. A dynamic speaker, Dale has selected his topic with care, and although it won’t cover minerals, it will look at the tremendous diversity of Theropods (the carnivorous dinosaurs), and why scientists say birds are living dinosaurs. While it’s true that almost everyone likes birds, this illustrated talk will take a good look at their ancestral dark side.
